Sariah Summer is 1

Sariah is already a year old. That went SUPER fast. She has really developed a funny little personality, always making us laugh. She will often put her head down and just stare at you, giving you an evil look. She does this a lot and won’t even smile, even after we laugh. It’s so weird, but we’re sure she’s doing it to be funny. I wish I had a picture of her doing this but she usually only does it for a few seconds.

We’ve found out that her favorite game is Ring-a-round the Rosie, hands down! She will play that 20 times in a row if there was someone willing to play that long with her. Her and Ashlyn will play it over and over again. When the song get to the part where is say “Ashes, Ashes” Sariah attempts to say it. She’s started talking a lot more recently. She says Daddy, mama (sometimes), duck, cat, sit, bubble (her favorite word right now), cup, and probably a couple more words. She will often try to repeat what you say now too. She loves to “sing” and tries to sing along with us.

She walks in shoes very well now and can almost run. She has learned to climb on our lower couch and also likes to ride everything (their see-saw, tries to ride Ashlyn’s tricycle, the riding horse). She also recently has started imitating quite a bit. She tries to sweep with Ashlyn’s small broom, she “feeds” the baby dolls with a play spoon, and she sits on the small training potty.

Sariah is such a sweet girl, and very affectionate. BUT She has started throwing a few temper tantrums and will fight to get her way with Ashlyn. The next year will be interesting. Here are some pictures of Sariah’s birthday party. We had a “box” theme, I guess you could say. Mommy decorated a bunch of boxes that were in our garage to play with. They had a blast.

Thanksgiving/Christmas 2012

We went to my Grandpa's house for Thanksgiving. We only were there a couple of days, but it was still good to see everyone.

A few weeks before Christmas my mom, the girls, and I visited Old Town Spring. Ashlyn rode a pony, we visited the petting zoo, saw Snow White and went window shopping.  Right before Christmas, we decorated cookies. We also watched the Polar Expresss, ate popcorn and drank hot chocolate with my mom and friends, Savanah and Garrett.

Christmas day was interesting. I ended up taking Sariah to a pediatric urgent care on Christmas day. Poor baby’s first Christmas wasn’t all that fun for her. She ended up having strep throat and the flu. Besides that everyone had a good time. We celebrated Christmas at our house the Sunday before Christmas. The girls got a new DIY play kitchen. I did all the designing and painting and my amazing father-in-law did all the hard work, cutting, and putting things together. The play kitchen was made from my old desk that I received in middle school. My mom bought the play food and mother-in-law bought some pots and pans to go in the kitchen. It’s been a HUGE hit. They play with it ALL the time.  The girls also received a bouncing riding horse, which they also love, and several other toys. Christmas eve and Christmas day we spent most of the time at Ramon’s parents. It was a lot of fun and lots of good food.
