Sisters

Ashlyn and Sariah already love each other. The baby is fascinated with Ashlyn. She lights up every time she hears her voice, smiles at her often, and is very observant of her. Ashlyn is very sweet with Sariah. She is always trying to help with the baby, and most of the time we let her. She brings her the pacifier and puts it in Sariah’s mouth, she plays peek-a-boo with her, she gives her kisses on the head, she tries to feed her the bottle, and tries to cover the baby with her blanket. Here are some pictures of our two girls together.

Sariah Summer

We got really lucky with Sariah. She is so easy for a baby her age. She doesn't cry very often and has a very sweet personality from what we can tell so far. She started smiling a few weeks ago and give a little laugh here and there. She likes to watch people and LOVES peek-a-boo. We haven't had any real issues with her. She still gets up a few times a night, but that's normal. But I think she must drink a lot more than the typical baby her age because she is big. She was in the 77% for weight and 75% for height at her 2 month check up.  She weighs over 12 lbs now. Tomorrow will be here first day in daycare since I started back to work; however, starting in April I will only be working two full days a week to stay home with the girls. Here are a few pictures of her over the last few months.

Ashlyn- 16 Months

Ashlyn is developing quite the personality. She is very independent, energetic, and caring. She's running her mouth all the time now, though it's in her own language a lot of the time. I would guess that she can say over 100 words now and a couple of phrases. She likes to say "I don't know" which she has been using all the time when we're looking at a picture and we ask her something like, "where's the whale?" She'll look and if she can't find it she'll say "I don't know".

She can finish a simple puzzle (5-8 pieces), and somewhat eat with a fork. What we've noticied about her is that she's very mechanically minded. She wants to figure out how things fit together all the time, like the buckles on the car seat and stroller, puzzles, and pulling things apart and putting them back together.

She walks and runs quite easily now and loves the park, especially the slide. She still loves to dance and sometimes we'll have a dance party, like we did last night in the kitchen. She pushed the button on one of her toys that plays music and Ramon, Ashlyn and I danced for about 15 minutes. Here are pictures of Ashlyn from the last 2 months.

This is our neighbor, Savanah, who helped with Ashlyn when I was still recovering from my c-section with Sariah.
