My in-laws have a pool in their back yard so we went swimming last weekend with the girls and my friend Ivy and her two boys. Ashlyn loves the water. She puts her face in the water, splashes, kicks, and likes to be thrown around...Sariah, not so much. She didn't want to even touch the water so she rode in the big duck float for about 10 minutes and that was it for her. Here are some pictures:

Mother's Day 2012
My second Mother’s day was a few weeks ago. It was fun, relaxing, and we had a good time
with our mother’s. We had Ramon’s parents and grandmother over the Saturday
before Mother’s day for lunch. We had a great time with them. Last year we got
our blog bound into a book and Angela (my mother-in-law) wanted one so we got
her a copy for Mother’s Day. I made a
shirt for Ramon’s Grandmother (GiGi)
with Ashlyn’s handprints and Sariah’s footprints on it. The girls also
decorated cards for both my mom and Ramon’s mom. I also went shopping that
weekend with my mom and got a break from all the diaper changes, and Ramon got me
some roses. Here are some pictures we took that weekend.

Lubbock Visit- 2012
We flew up to Lubbock, Texas in May for my cousin Amanda’s
graduation from Texas Tech University (And graduated with a 4.0! Go Amanda!). My mom has a lot of family from that area so
we visited with them. The plane trip was interesting but we made it. It was
mainly us (Ramon, my mom, and me) who made things worse than they had to be,
not the babies. For example, when we
first arrived to the airport, my mom realized that we had left one of the car
seats in the car. So Ramon had to take a shuttle back to the park and fly to
get the car seat, then come back…all while my mom and I tried to manage 3 big
bags, 3 carry-ons, a car seat, a stroller, and two babies.
We
stayed with my Lynda and Mark (my mom’s sister and bro-in-law). My cousins have young children as well, so
when they came to visit, Ashlyn got to play with them some. We were pretty busy
while we were there. My mom and I knew some friends (Sandra and Le Ann) who
recently moved to that area that were from Houston so they came for lunch one
day while we were there. It was really nice to see them. We also had a
graduation party for Amanda, and the graduation, of course. It was great to see
everyone again since we don’t get to go up there very often. Here are some
pictures taken while we were there. I had more with family but I was taking pictures with my phone and they were all blurry.
Hanging out at Mark and Lynda's
Cousin Braden. It looks like he's wondering who this is next to him.

The Graduation
Our friends, Sandra and Le Ann brought a gift for Ashlyn and Sariah. It is matching outfits! They are so sweet!

Sariah: "Where's Ashlyn?"
"There she is!"
It is so hard for me to get a picture with Ashlyn. She won't ever sit still.
Who's that baby in the mirror?
Sariah Summer- 4 Months
Sariah also had her well check this month for her 4 month
visit. She was 15 pounds at that visit…which is about 75% bigger than other
baby girls her age. We just started her
on solids at about 4 ½ months, but she still wakes up every night at about 4 or
5 a.m. to eat. She rolls over from her tummy to her back, but not too often.
She is way more concerned about standing all the time. She loves to sit in the
baby jumper and stand up (because she can’t jump, of course). Sariah still LOVES Ashlyn, and this night
time DVD we have. We play it every night before they go to bed when we’re
putting on their PJ's after the bath. Sariah doesn’t care about Ashlyn screaming
or mommy talking to her when that is on.
Here are some recent pictures of Sariah this month:
As Ashlyn says, "She's Happy! Happy Baby!"
Loving the solids with the exception of green beans.
Standing in the jumper.
Getting splashed on when Ashlyn is in her pool.
Watching Ashlyn play in the baby pool.
"Hi Mama!"
Big Sis doing tummy time with her for moral support.
Ashlyn Avery- 18 Months
Ashlyn had her 18 month well check at the pediatrician in May. She is 22 pounds but I can’t remember how tall she is. She is only around
the 25% for weight, height, and head size.
At this visit they ask a lot of questions to be sure there are no
concerns of autism. Right when the Dr. Winer (their pediatrician) walked in,
Ashlyn said, “Hi Doctor Winer!” The
doctor was like, “Well I guess you’re not concerned about any possible signs of
autism!” Ashlyn pretty much talks our
ears off now. She has to point out EVERYTHING she knows when we go places, or
even if we’re at home. She probably learns about 1 or more words every day. She
constantly amazes us about how much she knows. Here are some recent pictures of Ashlyn.
I made some homemade finger paints. Ashlyn had a blast. It is edible so she was eating it too. By the end of it, she was covered from head to toe in "paint".
The masterpiece.
She is convinced that the cat in the bushes is Purr Purr (one of our cats that is also black and white).
Picking flowers. When we leave to go somewhere, she always has to stop and pick a flower first.
Ms. Independent.
Okay, so this is Ramon at 12 months...see the resemblance?
